Song to New York

On the melody “Sang til Bergen”

Precious New York, how it goes?
Are you on your toes?
Is there sunshine in your midst,
or, is power blitzed?
You, the city of the clear streams,
spring, is it in dreams?
Maybe spring will rapidly
turn try into glee.
Busy Manhattan cares.
Brooklyn, the facing, dares.
Queens, the timing, occupies.
The notion never dies.
Precious New York, here aI wander by the river stream
aI must wonder, on to ponder; you are just a dream.

Ev'ry now and then aI will
think upon your ways.
And aI think, it is though strange
to show up by days.
By the latter of the matter
there is something made.
One should think you were a blink
for eye turn to grade.
New York, you lovely you,
lovely it is to do
view on you and take advantage
of the spotting bridge!
Precious New York, here aI wander by the river stream
aI must wonder, on to ponder; you are just a dream.

Ai am just a simple man.
You are just my view.
One should see to it you are
wonderful and true!
Taking it from there you really
should, and see me cry.
Ai am just a simple man,
so you do know why.
New York, you lovely you,
lovely it is to do
vision of you on your expense,
and be the common sense!
Precious New York, here aI wander by the river stream
aI must wonder, on to ponder; you are just a dream.
